Poem: Walk Another Life

By Gaurav Parab

The memory of that day still remains fresh,
She floating next to her friends so still,
He broke free – struggled out of life’s mesh.
Took in her smell, sweet poison pill.

Will you walk with me?
He whispered in her ear.
The next mile or this life?
She simply asked with a tear.

Or will you just disappear.

A hesitant light dancing wild in her eyes,
A smile flirting slowly with her face,
A child’s heart inside – woman in disguise,
He made her heart stop- she made his race.

Will you walk with me?
He whispered in her ear.
The next mile or this life?
She asked simply with a tear.

Or will you just disappear?

She winked and then she said hello,
He was a misfit - only an alibi,
She gave him that name years ago,
He shrugged – he gave that identity a try.

Will you walk with me?
He whispered in her ear.
The next mile or this life?
She simply asked with a tear.

Or will you just disappear?

All those days turned into years,
All those years turned into their lives,
All her smiles replaced his tears,
He held her close and cried out his fears:

Our journey draws to a close,
Your hand still holds mine so strong,
Before I whisper the final adios,
I need to ask, even if it may be wrong.

Will you walk with me?
For the next life and the one after,
My love - my sweet poison pill,
Or will you simply disappear?

Parab ji,

Nice work. Start publishing these all over the Internet. You need to showcase your work.

All the best.
