Poem - Heaven and Hell

By Gaurav Parab

They tell me that this is but earth,
With every action I dangerously flirt,
With my last ride to either heaven or hell,
I disagree - It’s a different theory I sell.

We already take a trip while down here,
Heaven and Hell through trust and fear,
Heaven in the truth shining in your eyes,
Hell through the raging fire of my lies.

A little God in every moment we share,
Heaven when we found love so rare.
A little Devil in every temptation so sweet,
Hell of the faith I loose leave me weak.

The cool white clouds of your smile,
Take me to heaven for a while.
The burning storm ripping across your face,
Take me to hell – out of love and grace.

Not sure of the route planned for me,
Won’t it be wise to be wild and free?
For I may never get to visit hell,
Or even get to ring St Peter’s bell.
Might as well take a trip both ways,
Before my time comes, in my living days.

very thought provoking indeed!!

maybe we should forget abt the past and the future.....and strive to make the best of the present!

u know what? all this is easier said than done!

This has to be so far the best of your poems/writings. Not sure what exactly I like - maybe the central theme, maybe the presentation, but mostly I think it is the bit of your soul that shines through.

You, my friend, have rung St. Peter's bell at least two times over.

best,
Prarthna
